NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal Working As Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy

Shaquille O’Neal, the famous former NBA player, is now working as an auxiliary deputy sheriff for Broward County, the Basketball legend goes by many nicknames, and now added to that list is Deputy Shaq, the agency reported through their social networks.

The new Broward police chief Gregory Tony and O’Neal spoke Friday morning about how authorities can work to keep communities safe.

According to a local tv channel WSVN, O’Neal spent Thanksgiving supporting Broward Police by handing out turkeys to some families, but when they were on their way to an activity, they ran into a car accident.

The basketball star supported the victims of the accident, comforting the children involved in the event and made sure everyone was well.

Florida Governor Ron de Santis removed Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel from office and appointed Gregory Tony as interim Sherrif.

Tony is a retired police sergeant from Coral Springs with a master’s degree in criminal justice from Nova Southeastern University. He is president of a security company, which specializes in the training of the public and private sector in tactics and strategies, for the management of victims in massive violent acts.

It should be remembered that O’Neal averaged 19.6 points and 9.1 rebounds for almost four seasons with the Miami Heat, a team he was on before being traded to the Phoenix Suns in 2008. From that moment, his career took another direction and today is one of the most experienced and active former players the NBA has.

If inside the court was a star, outside he was a show. Suffice it to say that he has participated in 16 films, has recorded four CDs and has taken part in various television programs.
