California judge blocks law requiring Trump to submit tax returns

A federal judge has blocked a California law that would require President Trump to disclose his tax returns in order to appear on the state’s primary ballot.

US District Judge Morrison England Jr., appointed by George W. Bush, issued a written opinion on Tuesday arguing that the law is probably unconstitutional, according to the Associated Press. He had ordered a preliminary injunction against the law last month.

The bill, which requires all candidates for president or governor to submit five years of federal tax returns in order to appear on the Calfornia primary ballot, was enacted by Governor Gavin Newsom in July.

I won the right to be a presidential candidate in California, in a major Court decision handed down yesterday. It was filed against me by the Radical Left Governor of that State to tremendous Media hoopla. The VICTORY, however, was barely covered by the Fake News. No surprise!, President Trump tweeted this morning.

President Trump’s legal team, along with the Republican National Committee, defied the law in court.

Morrison England Jr. said in September that it would block the law, arguing that there would be “irreparable damage without temporary relief” for Trump and other candidates if he did not issue the preliminary injunction, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The movement was praised at that time by Trump’s legal team. “We are encouraged that the federal court has tentatively concluded that a preliminary injunction should be granted. We await the written order of the court, ”said Trump’s lawyer, Jay Sekulow, in a statement. “It remains our position that the law is unconstitutional because states are not allowed to add additional requirements for candidates for president, and that the law violated the right of association of First Amendment citizens.”

It is harmful and disturbing that the Fake News media did not report yesterday on this victory for the Trump administartion, but why would they? This unconstitutional law was only part of the grand scheme to prevent President Trump from winning the 2020 elections at all costs.
