The Black Lives Matter movement has criticised the Democratic Party for pressing President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential re-election race and “anointing” Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s candidate without her being elected by the rank and file.
The organization has requested that the Democratic National Committee hold virtual primaries throughout the nation prior to the Democratic National Convention, which is scheduled to occur from August 19 to 22. So far, the group’s demands have been disregarded by Harris and the party.
“The blatant disregard for democratic principles is unacceptable,” says Black Lives Matter, a far-left, Marxist, and pro-democratic organization that has promoted violent protests in the country in the name of “equality.” They are criticizing Harris’s appointment.
“The committee is urged to establish a process that facilitates public participation in the nomination process, rather than relying solely on party delegates.” In a manner that has never been witnessed before, President Biden has resigned, creating an unprecedented political landscape. “This moment necessitates assertive action to safeguard the integrity of our democracy and the voices of black voters,” the organization stated.
On Sunday, June 21, President Joe Biden resigned from the presidential reelection campaign due to the significant pressure he faced in the wake of the disastrous debate with former President Donald Trump on June 28.
After being marginalized, the president renounced his ambitions and lent his backing to Vice President Harris, the second-ranking official in his administration. In addition to the support of nearly the entire party leadership, she has secured the financial support that had previously been frozen for Biden as part of the pressures to which he was subjected. All indications are that she will be the presidential nominee, as she has secured the support of more than two-thirds of the delegates who will “elect” her as a candidate at the Democratic convention.
Despite the fact that Democrats are attempting to position Harris as the new “hope” for the Party, offering the potential to “encourage” their voters who were not in favor of Biden, it appears that this does not sway all African Americans.
The organization condemned the Democratic National Committee for declining to assemble debates during the primaries, despite the fact that a substantial majority of Democratic voters requested them. According to this movement, “this would likely have enabled the United States to observe Joe Biden’s decline in 2023.”
Harris, the “unknown”
The party, which emphasizes respect and asserts that former President Donald Trump poses a “threat” to democracy, is criticized for the imposition and hand-picking of Harris, which disregards voters, party statutes, and eliminates competition for the nomination. This action was denounced by the now independent presidential candidate, Robert Kennedy Jr., at the time.
“The Democratic Party elites and billionaire donors compelled Joe Biden to withdraw from the race following the primaries, in which millions of black voters participated, and his subpar performance in the debate.” They underscore that the party elites are currently attempting to manipulate black voters by designating Kamala Harris, an unknown vice president, as the new Democratic candidate without a primary vote.
The aforementioned would suggest that Harris has maintained a distance from the party’s core elements in her capacity as vice president.
According to the statement, the potential outcome of a Harris presidency may be historic; however, the process to achieve it must be consistent with genuine democratic values. They also note that Harris is a “unknown.”

Dissatisfied voters
Their complaint is that the electoral process has been detrimental to democracy and African-American communities. “Throughout history, black individuals have been steadfast Democratic voters; however, the party has consistently neglected our genuine needs and prioritized political theater over our votes.”
Democrats must distinguish themselves from Republicans, as per Black Lives Matter. The primary process was conducted by the Republican Party, and voters selected Donald Trump as their candidate.
One of the few Democrats who has not endorsed Harris, President Barack Obama, has advocated for a “open process” in the selection of the candidate. However, it appears that Harris’s appointment will be the dominant factor.
