The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has announced that a woman from Sussex County was arrested and would be prosecuted for voting in both the 2020 primary and general elections in New Jersey and Florida.
Donna Prentes Brady, who registered to vote in Sussex Borough in 1993, reportedly voted in both Ocala, Florida, and Sussex Borough, through the mail.
Monday marked the arrest of Brady, the most recent victim of Governor Ron DeSantis‘ year-old voting fraud crackdown via a vote crime team. Brady was arrested on March 13 and is currently in the Marion County Jail.
Now, New Jersey voter registration records list her as a registered voter in Sussex County.
From 2013 and 2020, Brady participated in every primary and every general election in New Jersey.
She voted for the Democrats in 2014 and 2015, the Republicans in 2016, the Democrats in 2017, the Republicans in 2018, and the Democrats in 2019 and 2020.
By 2021, she had become an independent voter; this sort of voting behavior would have required Brady to proactively register at least five changes in party registrations within nine years.
She voted in both the New Jersey Democratic primary in July 2020 and the Florida Republican primary in September 2020.
In 2020, she registered to vote in Marion County, Florida.
In New Jersey, she did not vote in 2021 or 2022.
According to property tax data, Brady continues to own her home in Sussex. According to Florida records, she inherited the Ocala residence from her deceased father in 2018.
In the previous election season, Brady donated $5 to Florida U.S. Senate candidate Val Demings and $35 to Georgia U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock, according to records from the Federal Election Commission.
