The reelection campaign for President Joe Biden has recruited Andy Crystal, a former research professional for comedians Jon Stewart and Hasan Minhaj, as well as Lauren Hitt, who recently held the position of communications director for Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
““We’re excited to welcome Andy and Lauren to the already talented and fierce communications team working to reelect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” stated Michael Tyler, Biden’s communications director, as reported by POLITICO on Saturday.
The recent surge in hiring follows complaints from certain Democratic operatives who expressed dissatisfaction with the campaign’s staffing operation, specifically in swing states, for not expanding rapidly enough. The Biden campaign, at that moment, minimized those concerns, emphasizing their readiness to recruit new personnel in crucial positions when necessary.
This latest recruitment drive seems to have been prompted by concerns expressed by Democratic operatives regarding the rapid pace of campaign expansion, especially in swing states. Thousands of individuals with far-left political ideologies are currently gathering in Washington, D.C. to express their opposition to the Biden administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The campaign has witnessed multiple resignations and incidents of heightened tension due to the conflict, with employees recently communicating to their superior: “Your administration’s reaction to Israel’s indiscriminate bombing in Gaza has fundamentally contradicted our principles – and we believe it may jeopardize your chances of winning the 2024 election.”
