Voters in three Miami-Dade cities are heading back to the polls today as Miami, Hialeah and Miami Beach decide several races left unresolved in November. With no candidate securing a majority in a handful of contests, Tuesday’s runoffs will determine new local leadership heading into 2026.
Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and early results should begin appearing shortly after polling locations close.
Where to Vote
On Election Day, voters must cast their ballot at their assigned polling place. Check the Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections website if you’re uncertain of your location. Bring a valid photo ID; your voter card isn’t required.
If you still have a mail-in ballot, it has to be delivered today to Election HQ at:
2700 NW 87th Ave., Miami, FL 33172.
Polling stations cannot accept mail-in ballots.
All ballots must be received before 7 p.m. to count.
For assistance, call 305-499-VOTE (8683).
Weather Outlook
Expect a mostly cloudy day with a 40% chance of rain and highs in the mid-70s. Sunset is at 5:30 p.m., about 90 minutes before polls close.
What’s on the Ballot?
Hialeah
Two citywide council races are up for grabs:
- Group III: Jessica Castillo vs. Gelien Perez
- Group IV: William “Willy” Marrero vs. Javier Morejon
Because Hialeah does not use districts, all voters can participate in both contests.
Miami
Miami’s mayoral race is drawing national attention.
Former City Manager Emilio González, endorsed by President Donald Trump, faces former Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins, backed by the DNC. Though officially nonpartisan, the race has become sharply political.
District 3 voters will also elect a new city commissioner.
The candidates are:
- Frank Carollo, former commissioner and CPA
- Rolando Escalona, general manager at Brickell’s Sexy Fish restaurant
Miami Beach
One runoff is on the ballot:
- Group I Commission: Monica Matteo-Salinas vs. Monique Pardo Pope
All Miami Beach voters may participate since commissioners represent the entire city.
When to Expect Results
Initial numbers should be available shortly after 7 p.m., with updates throughout the night.
