US Deploys CENTCOM Troops to Israel to Monitor Trump-Brokered Gaza Ceasefire

The United States has deployed approximately 200 troops from CENTCOM to Israel to monitor the Trump-brokered Gaza ceasefire, a move designed to ensure both Israel and Hamas adhere to the terms of the agreement while facilitating humanitarian aid delivery. This deployment marks a significant step in U.S. involvement in Middle Eastern peacekeeping and reflects a renewed commitment to regional stability.

A civil-military coordination center, led by CENTCOM Admiral Brad Cooper, will serve as the central hub for overseeing ceasefire implementation, coordinating humanitarian efforts, and maintaining continuous communication with all parties involved. The center will collaborate with international partners including Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, the UAE, NGOs, and private sector organizations to ensure effective monitoring and compliance.

U.S. troops will not enter Gaza directly, instead relying on drones, satellites, and surveillance aircraft to monitor the ceasefire in real time. This approach minimizes risks while maintaining operational oversight and ensuring both sides follow the agreement.

The ceasefire agreement, negotiated under President Trump’s initiative, includes provisions for the release of hostages, partial Israeli military withdrawals, and the establishment of a transitional civilian governance structure in Gaza. U.S. involvement in monitoring the ceasefire demonstrates CENTCOM’s growing role in regional security and highlights America’s commitment to facilitating peace and humanitarian support in complex conflict zones.
