Florida gas prices continue to fall after it suddenly rose a couple of weeks ago due to the threat of tropical storm Barry to the oil platforms in Lousiana.
During the last 11 days, the prices decreased nine cents, which adds 12 cents less in just 11 days.
The prices at the pumps dropped nine cents during the past week, for a total discount of 12 cents in the past 11 days.
“We benefit from the low oil prices, which is given by the idea that supply, the amount of fuel in the international market, is higher than demand,” said the American Automobile Association(AAA) on their weekly report.
In fact, the average in the Sunshine state stands at $2.58 per gallon “and should continue to decline this week, so it is expected to be less than $2.55 before Friday,” the statement said.
Today we pay an average of $2.58 per gallon, which means nine cents less than seven days ago but four cents higher than a month ago, although 22 cents less than a year ago.
In Miami, where consumption exceeds the rest of Florida, the average price is $2.58 per gallon, although prices below 2.50 are reported in some distant gas stations.
