Joe Biden to visit Miami for campaign fundraiser

President Joe Biden is going to make a trip to Miami on January 30th in order to participate in a fundraising event that will be held at the residence of Chris Korge, who serves as the national finance chair of the Biden Victory Fund, Politico reported.

A co-chair ticket can cost as much as $250,000, with prices starting at $3,300 and going all the way up to that.Despite the fact that the trip is intended to contribute to the campaign’s financial resources, it is likely to spark speculation about whether or not the president is considering running for office in Florida, a state that was traditionally considered a swing state until it recently shifted to the right.

As president, this will be Biden’s sixth trip to the state of Florida. In September, he made his most recent trip to the Sunshine State in order to assess the damage that Hurricane Idalia had caused. The Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, did not meet with Joe Biden during that trip.In the election of 2020, Biden was defeated by Trump in the state of Florida by a margin of more than three percentage points, and his campaign has been very clear about the difficulty of winning the state in 2024.

They see a more direct route to victory through the states of the Sun Belt, where Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada are located, as well as the states of the Rust Belt, which Biden reclaimed from Trump earlier this year.Following a successful stretch of fundraising during the fourth quarter, the Biden campaign entered the new year with a strong amount of momentum.

In the final three months of 2023, Biden, the Democratic National Committee, and their joint fundraising committees brought in more than $97 million. This put the president ahead of his most recent Democratic predecessor in terms of fundraising.

Monday was the day that the campaign made the announcement that it had a cash reserve of $117 million. The campaign has been slow to staff up and has been relatively frugal.

Biden’s fundraising numbers are significantly lower. In the email invitation that was sent out to donors, Korge expressed his hope that the Miami reception would be the largest fundraiser for a presidential candidate that has ever been held in the state of Florida. He also stated that the “excitement around this event has been amazing.”

There has been no announcement made by former President Donald Trump regarding the amount of money he raised during the fourth quarter of 2023. But when compared to what Trump was able to bring in at the end of his third year in office, when he and the Republican National Committee collected more than $154 million.
