Florida’s 2026 election is moving into the general-election campaign after voters settled major party primaries across the state on Aug. 18.
Floridians will elect a new governor, a U.S. senator, members of the Florida Cabinet, congressional representatives, state lawmakers and local officials on Nov. 3, 2026. Voters will also decide constitutional amendments and other ballot questions that could affect taxes, public services and state policy.

Florida Governor’s Race
Florida’s marquee statewide contest is now set for November.
Republican Byron Donalds and Democrat David Jolly won their respective Aug. 18 primaries and will compete to succeed term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Donalds emerged from a Republican field that included Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, former Florida House Speaker Paul Renner and James Fishback.
Jolly, a former Republican congressman who later left the party, captured the Democratic nomination.

Qualified No Party Affiliation candidates will also appear on the ballot where applicable.
The winner will become Florida’s next governor and take office following DeSantis, who cannot seek another consecutive term because of Florida’s term limits.
