Chabad of Naples to host free barbecue for Hurrican Ian victims

Chabad of Naples is hosting a community barbecue for those in need of a warm meal and companionship.

At 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 30, residents of Naples, power or no power, are invited to gather in front of the Chabad center, located at 1789 Mandarin Road, to eat hot off the grill.

“It is crucial that we come together as a community during this challenging time.
“When we come together as a community, we feel God’s presence,” Rabbi Fishel Zaklos stated in a press release.

Its invitation to the community stated, “We may not have electricity, but we have each other.”

Chabad has organized a volunteer medical rescue team that is answering calls, administering medical care, and rescuing locals from their flooded homes.
On Friday, 200 Shabbat meals will be delivered to the community and those in need. Also on Sunday, volunteers from Chabad will assist locals in clearing debris and removing downed trees.

Hurricane Ian struck the South West Coast of Florida on Wednesday as a Category 4 hurricane with winds exceeding 150 miles per hour, causing “catastrophic” flooding in multiple cities.
