Trump responds after Mueller disputes Buzzfeed’s report on Cohen

Buzzfeed reported that President Trump ordered his former lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about a possible agreement of a Trump Tower in Moscow, but we explained why it was very likely that the “report”, based on anonymous sources, was false.

It turns out that we were right because the special prosecutor’s office of Robert Mueller issued a statement refuting the story completely.

Mueller’s office rarely makes statements of any kind, but this story about the President was so false that they were forced to issue a statement. “BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Office of the Special Prosecutor, and the characterization of the documents and the testimony obtained by this office, regarding the testimony of Michael Cohen’s Congress are not accurate,” said the spokesman for the special prosecutor, Peter Carr, in a statement on Friday night.

Some liberals, surprised to have been deceived by such massively false news, tried to interpret that Mueller’s statement did not completely deny Buzzfeed’s report because he said “it is not accurate”. That claim was destroyed when even the Washington Post reported that the statement was addressed to Buzzfeed’s entire report, “to make it clear that none of those statements in the story is accurate.”

President Trump responded to the revelation that the story was a false story both last night and this morning, in the statements below.

Even CNN admitted that this situation is terrible for traditional media. “What people will take from this story is that the media is a bunch of left-wing liars who are dying to catch the president, and are willing to lie to do it … I just think this is a bad day for us.”

After Mueller’s office confirmed the truth, it’s easy to see what happened here. Buzzfeed knew that he published a lie and the rest of the media knew that it was also a lie, but they decided to spread it anyway. They spread this false news because they thought there was no way to catch them because they have been doing it throughout President Trump’s presidency.

They never thought that Mueller would really correct them. But even though they were corrected, the damage is done. How many people were exposed to this story of Buzzfeed, who believes it is true and will not see that Robert Mueller has criticized it directly? This is how the media shape public opinion and change the votes with these false stories.

Verification of facts never receives as much attention as the original story and even people who see the verification of facts do not believe it because they do not want to accept that they were deceived.
