Trump to formally launch 2020 campaign on June 18 in Orlando, Florida

President Donald Trump said Friday that he will formally announce his candidacy for the 2020 presidential election on June 18 at a rally in Orlando, Florida.

Next to Trump will be his wife, Melania, Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen. The event will be held at the Amway Center stadium in Orlando, Trump said on Twitter.

“I will be announcing my second presidential race (…) on June 18 in Orlando,” he said. “Join us in this historic rally!”

Trump made that announcement as more and more Democrats call to begin a process of impeachment against him, including several of the more than 20 candidates seeking to defeat him in the presidential elections.

For now, the Republican president has directed his energy and criticism towards the leading Democratic candidate and former vice president, Joe Biden.

Biden, who was a senator for six terms before holding the No. 2 position of President Barack Obama, has taken an important lead in the first polls.

In November 2016, Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in the race to win the White House.

Biden defines himself, like Trump, as an ardent supporter of the American working class and as someone who can regain the “blue collar” voters, that is, the Midwestern men who supported the Republicans in 2016
