Trump claims ‘Obama had to know about’ efforts to undermine presidency

President Trump said that former President Obama “had to know” about what he believes was a “high-level efforts” by the FBI to undermine his presidency.

Speaking to George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week”, President Trump insisted that prosecutor Robert Mueller’s report exempted him from accusations of complicity with Russia and accused the FBI of working against him.

“There was no crime. There was no collusion, “said the president. “Now, there is no collusion. That means it was a setup. In my opinion, and I think it’s going to come out”.

Stephanopoulos asked: “You clearly believe that there was a group of people working against you. Do you think President Obama was behind this? “

“I would say that he certainly must have known,” Trump replied. “But you’re going to discover that. I will not make that statement yet. But I would say that President Obama had to know”.

While Attorney General William Barr investigates the origins of illegal espionage in President Trump’s 2016 campaign, there have been many rumors that there is evidence that Obama knew and even sanctioned it.

With President Trump saying this on ABC, he is implying that the rumors are true.

President Trump referred to the texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who spoke directly about Obama and helped give the justification to begin investigating the origins of Mueller’s investigations.

Stephanopoulos ended the interview by asking Trump if he believed Obama spied on his campaign. President Trump replied: “I do not know. But I hope we”ll find out. ”
