Biden administration pays $265,000 to deflect Hunter stories and Republican probes

The Biden administration is preparing for the possibility of Republican-led investigations into first son Hunter Biden by increasing the number of people working in the White House’s legal and security departments.

In anticipation of a Republican victory in the House in November, the White House has thus far agreed to spend $265,000 in taxpayer funds on the salaries of staff members whose primary responsibility will be to defend against impending attacks.
And this number is anticipated to increase.

In May, Richard Sauber, the top attorney at the Department of Veterans Affairs, agreed to join the White House as ‘assistant to the president and assume responsibility for handling congressional investigations.

Ian Sams, who previously worked for the unsuccessful presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris and most recently for the Department of Health and Human Services, was also hired in May to oversee communications for the White House protection team.

According to White House public documents, Sauber will receive a yearly salary of $155,000 while Sams will earn $110,000.

Sams said of his new position in a recent statement, ‘As we have done since the transition, we are ensuring the White House is prepared for the issues we are facing or will face in the future, and we have built and continue to build a strong legal team to conduct our work and serve the public and the President.’

In the meantime, Republicans have been making the rounds announcing some of their plans as they prepare to assume oversight authority.

Rep. Jim Comer (R-Kentucky) is on track to become the Oversight Committee chair if his party regains control of the House of Representatives.

According to him, the Republican focus on Hunter Biden has little to do with his past and present issues, such as drug addiction and paternity lawsuits. And everything related to the protection of American interests.

Comer recently labeled the younger Biden a “threat to national security” and is determined to investigate the family’s foreign business relationships, which he believes may include “peddling access to the highest levels to enrich themselves to the detriment of the United States.”

Comer has requested that the Treasury Department provide additional information, but they have not yet done so.

President Biden owes the American people transparency regarding his family’s questionable business dealings.
Comer told the New York Post that instead of providing transparency, the White House is hiring staff at the expense of American taxpayers to obstruct congressional oversight and accountability.
