Trump Says He’ll Be Arrested on Tuesday, Urges Supporters to ‘Take Nation Back’

Former President Donald Trump has stated that he anticipates being “arrested” on Tuesday in connection with allegations that hush money was paid to a porn star prior to the election of 2016 and has called on his supporters to demonstrate.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Saturday morning, citing a “leak” from the Manhattan district attorney’s office: “The leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States will be arrested on Tuesday of next week. Protest, take our nation!”

The potentially incendiary statement comes a day after the conservative firebrand’s Facebook and YouTube accounts were reinstated following a lengthy ban in the wake of the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021.

The investigation centers on $130,000 paid weeks before the 2016 election to prevent Stephanie Clifford, aka Stormy Daniels, from disclosing an affair she claims to have had with Donald Trump years earlier.

Prosecutors are considering whether or not to file charges against Trump.

If the Manhattan district attorney were to indict Trump, he would be the first former president to face criminal charges.
Trump’s attorney stated on Friday night that his client would turn himself in to face criminal charges if indicted by a Manhattan grand jury.

Trump, who served as the Republican president from 2017 to 2021, has launched a campaign to win the 2024 presidential election.
