Trump and Kim Jong Un will hold a second summit at the end of February

President Donald Trump, and the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, will meet again in February in a place yet to be determined, as announced by the White House on Friday.

“President Trump is expecting a second summit with President Kim, which will take place near the end of February, and the location will be announced later,” the White House said in a brief message on its official Twitter account.

Shortly after the announcement, the head of press of the White House, Sarah Sanders, has emphasized that both parts “continue making advances”, according to the British news agency Reuters.

“We continue to hold talks,” she said, although he has stressed that “the United States will continue to maintain pressure and sanctions on North Korea.”

Trump met Friday afternoon in Washington for about an hour and a half with Kim Yong Chol, head of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of North Korea.

Kim Yong Chol has also held a meeting with the Secretary of the United States, Mike Pompeo, in which they have addressed efforts to advance the commitment made by the North Korean leader towards denuclearization.

Pompeo has been accompanied by the special envoy of the United States to North Korea, Stephen Biegun, while Kim Yong Chol has traveled to Washington accompanied by two other North Korean high officials.
