Biden campaign calls Nikki Haley a “MAGA Extremist”

Nikki Haley, a rising-in-popularity Republican presidential candidate in 2024, was labeled a “MAGA extremist” by President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign on Friday due to her position on abortion.

Haley, who held the position of governor in South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, has presented herself as a comparatively moderate candidate within the Republican Party during the election, particularly in relation to her stance on abortion.

Haley’s self-identification as “unapologetically pro-life” is accompanied by her advocacy for a shift in the discourse surrounding the medical procedure, urging Americans to refrain from demonizing it. Additionally, she has actively promoted adoption as well as the availability of contraception as alternative approaches.

Haley asserted that the placement of this item was within the jurisdiction of the states, thereby suggesting that it should remain there. Individuals have the ability to express their opinions on the matter. During her tenure as governor in 2016, Haley enacted legislation in South Carolina that prohibited abortion after 20 weeks of gestation, except in cases where the life of the mother is deemed to be in jeopardy.

The campaign team of President Biden declined to consider Haley as a “moderate” candidate due to her past involvement in anti-abortion legislation.

According to a statement made by Ammar Moussa, the rapid response director for the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign, Nikki Haley cannot be considered a moderate due to her strong anti-abortion stance and alignment with the MAGA movement.

Moussa further asserts that Haley’s actions as the former governor of South Carolina reflect a desire to restrict women’s freedoms. This statement was issued on X, previously known as Twitter, on Friday. Haley has expressed her commitment to extend the same sense of fear, anxiety, and dread that she imposed upon women in South Carolina to women across the entire nation.

Ken Farnaso, the press secretary for Haley, provided a response to Moussa’s statement, asserting that the motivations behind Joe Biden and the Democrats’ criticism of Nikki Haley stem from their apprehension about facing her in an electoral contest. The polls indicate this assertion, and it has been acknowledged by members of the Democratic party. Nikki is expected to not only secure victory over Joe Biden but also contribute to the success of the Republican party in various electoral contests.

According to the poll results, Haley maintains a 10-point lead over Biden, with a distribution of 55 percent to 45 percent. In contrast, Trump’s lead over Biden is narrower, with a margin of 4 points, specifically 52 percent to 48 percent. Governor DeSantis currently maintains a narrow advantage of 2 percentage points over President Biden, with a distribution of 51 percent in favor of DeSantis and 49 percent in favor of Biden.

Although Haley has previously expressed admiration for the Trump administration, she has also voiced criticism of the former president during her campaign appearances.
