Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Donald Trump, married socialite Bettina Anderson on Thursday in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to Palm Beach County records. The couple is expected to celebrate with a private wedding gathering in the Bahamas this weekend.
The wedding has drawn national attention due to the Trump family’s continued prominence in politics and business, as well as Anderson’s ties to one of Palm Beach’s well-known families.
President Donald Trump confirmed Thursday that he would not attend the wedding festivities, citing ongoing international tensions and presidential responsibilities in Washington, D.C.
“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump wrote Friday on Truth Social.
The president added that he believed it was important to remain in the nation’s capital “during this important time,” referencing the ongoing conflict involving Iran and other matters facing the administration.
A private celebration for the newlyweds is reportedly scheduled to take place Saturday in the Bahamas, according to multiple media reports.
Trump Jr., 48, announced his engagement to Anderson during a White House holiday party in December 2025. The couple has frequently appeared together at political events and social gatherings in Palm Beach over the past year.
Anderson comes from a prominent Florida family. Her father, Harry Loy Anderson Jr., is a banker and philanthropist with longstanding ties to the Palm Beach community.
This marks the second marriage for Trump Jr., who was previously married to Vanessa Trump. The former couple married at Mar-a-Lago in 2005 and share five children together before divorcing in 2018.
Following his divorce, Trump Jr. was later engaged to former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, who currently serves as the U.S. ambassador to Greece.
In recent years, Trump Jr. has remained heavily involved in the Trump Organization alongside his brother Eric Trump, while also continuing to play a visible role in Republican politics and campaign events connected to his father.
Anderson has also been involved in environmental and charitable efforts in Florida, serving as a committee member for the Project Paradise Film Fund, an organization focused on environmental conservation initiatives in the state.
The wedding comes as the Trump family continues to remain at the center of both political and media attention during President Trump’s second term in office.
