Russia confirms the deaths of 20 “American mercenaries” in an airstrike in Kharkiv

The Russian Army announced on Saturday the death of twenty “American mercenaries” in an air attack in the Ukrainian region of Kharkov, in the country’s east, as part of a series of bombings carried out in the last hours that would have killed approximately 300 Ukrainian fighters.

According to the Russian Army’s main spokesman, General Igor Konashenkov, the attack, carried out with “high-precision weapons,” occurred near the town of Andreevka, a small town located right on the Donetsk front, halfway between the strategic cities of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

According to an additional statement published on the Russian Defense Ministry’s website, the bombing also killed 80 Ukrainian troops, members of the ultra-nationalist Kraken formation, and other foreign fighters for hire.

Furthermore, General Konashenkov reported that another Russian bombardment killed about 200 Ukrainian fighters in the Dnepropetrovsk region, an attack that “almost completely” destroyed the battalion of the 110 Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to a press conference transcribed by the TASS news agency.

In terms of infrastructure, Russian forces reported earlier this morning that a drone had been shot down over the main fleet building in Sevastopol, Black Sea, with no evidence of personal injury.

The activation of anti-aircraft defenses in the western area has been confirmed by Crimean Governor Sergei Aksionov. “The target was destroyed with no casualties or damage,” he said on social media, according to the TASS news agency, in a message in which he also urged the population to remain calm.

According to the Russian Army, this is in addition to the destruction of 13 Ukrainian missiles heading for the Kajovskaya hydroelectric plant in Kherson.
