Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, and Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuez spoke at the first stop of the Republican Party of Florida’s “Keep Florida Free Tour” in Hialeah.
DeSantis talked about his accomplishments, emphasized his support for parents and law enforcement, and pledged to lead to the highest Republican turnout in the state’s history.
Much of DeSantis’ speech focused on education and parental rights, while also emphasizing keeping critical race theory out of classrooms in Florida Schools. “At the end of the day, we’re not going to let this state be overrun by woke ideology,” “We will fight the woke in the businesses, we will fight the woke in government agencies, we will fight the woke in our schools. We will never, ever surrender to the woke agenda. Florida is the state where woke goes to die.” the Governor added.
Twenty-five of the thirty school board candidates in Florida endorsed by state Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) either won or advanced to a runoff election Tuesday night. DeSantis told a crowd at the event that because he, Attorney General Ashley Moody, and Sen. Marco Rubio all ran unopposed, the party was able to focus on other races such as school board seats.
Meanwhile, Senator Marco Rubio, who attended the rally with his wife and supporters, referred to the Biden administration’s “disaster” in the economy and the well-being of American families. And he warned that “Marxism and communism are never satisfied; they only pretend to have total control of the entire population, using our educational system to indoctrinate,” referring to the chaos on the southern border.
During the act, Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar said: “All congressmen, senators, and others are on the same page, we know what communism is and we are not going to allow it to spread throughout the United States.”
As a result, he asserts, conservatives have won races across the state. You can expect a lot more of that from DeSantis in the coming months — and possibly years.
The Republican won his first election in 2018 and has since become one of the country’s most popular governors among Republicans.
He is widely regarded by Republicans as a natural successor to former President Donald Trump due to his objections to mask and vaccine mandates during the coronavirus pandemic and his refusal to back down on culture war flashpoints from abortion to education.
With inflation at an all-time high and President Joe Biden’s approval rating at an all-time low, Republicans are predicting a midterm landslide. It could still be a successful year for the GOP.
