Ultra Music Festival Will Return to Bayfront Park Miami in 2020

The Ultra Music Festival will return to Bayfront Park in Miami after city commissioners approved by a vote their return to what has been their headquarters for more than ten years.

Local media reported that city commissioners voted 3-2 on Thursday to approve an agreement with Ultra Music Festival. The three-day electronic dance music event will return to Bayfront Park in March 2020. Commissioners Joe Carollo and Ken Russell voted against the measure.

The commissioners voted not to renew a contract with the festival last fall, following complaints from residents of the city center who oppose the large crowds and heavy traffic of the event. The two-decade-old festival attracts tens of thousands of electronic music fans and artists from around the world.

The Ultra organizers moved the festival to Virginia Key last spring, but the logistical problems and complaints of the new neighbors made the organizers not to return for another year in that place.

Although some residents continue to oppose the return to downtown Miami, many business owners applaud the economic momentum that the festival will bring to the City.
