According to White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham, President Donald Trump was receiving hourly updates on Hurricane Dorian while at his private Virginia golf club.
Trump spent several hours inside his private golf club on Labor Day. The president was also retweeting storm updates that the National Hurricane Center was emitting.
On Sunday, Trump attended an information session on hurricane Dorian at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Washington.
Hurricane Dorian is still dumping water on the Bahamas on Monday after slamming the islands with winds exceeding 150 miles per hour.
Meteorologists said the hurricane may begin to move away from the Bahamas early Tuesday and turn northeast along the coast of the southeastern United States.
Trump issued emergency declarations for Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
