As Elon Musk put it, “Trump will be re-elected in a landslide victory, if arrested.”

Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter and a billionaire in his own right, recently claimed that the former president of the United States would be re-elected in a “landslide victory” if he were to be arrested.

Musk tweeted, “If this happens, Trump will be re-elected in a landslide victory,” in response to reports that Trump would be charged as early as next week.

It should be noted that the Twitter CEO made the remark in response to a Fox News report that suggested Trump could be “cuffed.”

On Saturday, Trump said, “he will be arrested on Tuesday” next week in connection with the ongoing investigation into a hush-money scheme that has been ongoing for the past year, he also urged his followers to stage a protest against the decision.

“THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!,”. On Saturday, he posted a message to his followers on Truth Social in all capital letters.

In New York City, local, state, and federal law enforcement have reportedly been meeting all week in anticipation of a possible indictment of Trump in connection with the ongoing year-long investigation into a hush-money scheme involving adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

An indictment of the ex-President, who is seeking re-election in 2024, would be unprecedented and would quickly shift the political conversation away from a figure who has already polarized opinion.
As Trump campaigns for reelection, a criminal charge would be a dramatic escalation of his legal woes despite his long history of civil litigation both before and after he took office.

While Trump has been mum on the details of any indictment or charges he may face, the media reports that his legal team has been quietly getting ready for the inevitable indictment.

The former president has indicated that he would like to make a speech after the formal charges are filed, and he is expected to appear in Manhattan for this purpose; whether or not he actually does so is unclear.

A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign issued a statement saying that the president had received “no notification” about the indictment and that the information had been “illegally leaked” by prosecutors to the media.

It has never happened before in the United States that a president has been indicted.

After Nixon’s resignation in 1974, he faced possible criminal charges related to the Watergate scandal, but his successor, President Gerald Ford, pardoned him.
