Cory Mills Officially Qualifies for Re-Election in Florida’s 7th Congressional District

U.S. Rep. Cory Mills has officially qualified to seek re-election in Florida’s 7th Congressional District, launching his campaign for another term representing Central Florida in Congress.

Mills announced his qualification this week, highlighting his record of defending constitutional freedoms, strengthening national security, supporting military families, and delivering results for constituents throughout the district.

“Today, I am proud to announce that I have officially qualified to run for re-election,” Mills said. “For the past nearly four years, I have worked every day to deliver results for the people of Florida’s 7th Congressional District, fighting to protect our freedoms, support our families, strengthen our economy, and ensure our community has a strong voice in Washington.”

The Republican congressman noted that his office has secured more than $100 million for constituents through casework and constituent services, helping residents navigate federal agencies, veterans’ benefits, Social Security matters, passport issues, and other government-related concerns.

A decorated Army combat veteran, Mills has built a reputation in Congress as a strong advocate for military readiness, veterans, and national defense. He currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee, where he sits on the Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations, the Subcommittee on Military Personnel, and the Subcommittee on Readiness.

During his time in Congress, Mills has supported annual National Defense Authorization Acts aimed at improving military readiness, increasing servicemember pay and benefits, enhancing housing and healthcare for military families, and strengthening America’s defense industrial base.

He has also championed legislation focused on prioritizing American companies for critical defense contracts, protecting military installations from foreign influence, and expanding opportunities for employee-owned businesses to compete for Department of Defense contracts.

Mills frequently promotes a “peace through strength” approach to foreign policy and national defense, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a strong military to deter adversaries such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.

“We have one of the most constitutionally conservative records in Congress and lead the state of Florida in constituent services,” Mills said. “With your continued support, we will keep working to deliver real results for Central Florida and beyond.”

Florida’s 7th Congressional District includes portions of Seminole, Volusia, and Orange counties and is expected to remain a closely watched race during the 2026 election cycle.

As Republicans work to maintain control of the U.S. House and Democrats seek opportunities to gain ground in Florida, Mills enters the race emphasizing his conservative voting record, military experience, and commitment to constituent service.

Why It Matters

Mills’ official qualification adds another incumbent Republican to Florida’s growing list of candidates seeking re-election in 2026. His military background, House Armed Services Committee leadership, and strong constituent service record are expected to be central themes of his campaign as the election season accelerates.
